The enthusiasm and involvement of children in computing education continues to grow. Additionally, Minecraft has become a huge cultural phenomenon because it is an exciting, stimulating platform that encourages exploration and play. This presentation will show how Python can be used to teach programming while playing in the world of Minecraft. We will discuss how to create learning environments, curricula, and case studies. Interest in children's computing education is increasing on all fronts, including government-sponsored initiatives and our own Python community. Finding age-appropriate materials and environments that are educational and stimulating has always been a issue, especially for the younger generation of coders. However, Minecraft has become a massive cultural phenomenon, capturing the imaginations and hearts of our children. Millions of hours have been spent in Minecraft, shaping and crafting worlds and drawing the attention of its players. It stands out as an enjoyable, stimulating platform that encourages play and exploration. This talk will discuss the role played by games in education, the basics of motivation and how it connects to teaching programming. What is the best way to help Minecraft and its virtual environment solve these issues? We will explore the different methods and tools that could be used to facilitate Python-based interactions with the Minecraft world. Extremecraft The available Python APIs for Minecraft will be covered as well as examples of curriculum and projects. The tools and the environments discussed will address the appropriate requirements for Minecraft on both PC and iMac versions. Minecraft and Minecraft PI We will also discuss how to create appropriate learning environments for your own use. Learn about the successes and mistakes of other communities. Outcome: Parents and educators will leave with a better understanding of Minecraft, its capabilities, and its value in the realm of education. They will also learn to teach Python programming through games in the Minecraft world. Participants will receive the resources needed to teach Python and the steps needed to create learning environments.
