The biggest Lie In Fish Magic
"Art does not reproduce what is visible, it makes visible what is not always apparent."
The phrase of Paul Klee encapsulates part of his poetics and translates aesthetically into the graffiti technique that the artist employs in the painting "Fish Magic" of 1925.


The surface of the painting is dark, a formless backdrop; like before the creation and explosion of life that was the big bang: in the beginning was darkness. This darkness is the result from the unconscious. It is hidden under the surface of things and even us, difficult to detect and comprehend, and appears to be a true mystery. Being aware of our unconscious, just like the mysteries of life is a difficult, but not impossible job, a heroic challenge that not all of us are ready to face. The light of the moon shines in the darkness
Klee's magical fish don't claim to be truth but they are only light that illuminates darkness. They are inhabitants of the dark, and are creatures of the unconscious. Accustoming to the senses
When everything is dark and silent, however, it is easier to perceive light, see movements, hear the sound of rustling; you just have to get your senses used to the darkness. It takes time and can be a bit annoying initially because you get the impression that you are blind; but when you become comfortable with it, you will be able to overcome the darkness and even feed on it. The scales shimmer, bubbles pop through the air, and nothing is clear, but everything actually seems complete: an accurate image that you can scratch just a bit more in the event that we're alive and want to understand ourselves a bit more.

Watching them as they swim

The fish are like that, swimming, bobbing with their rhythm, the immense ocean is their sanctuary and they don't fear the lack of walls or limits. In fact, it can be in the vastness the globe that they will feel the freedom of being able to be there today and not tomorrow and being able to wander eternally, aware that they will always find their way back since in the waters of the unconscious the path is circular.
