This line from Paul Klee encapsulates part of his poetics and translates aesthetically into the graffiti technique the artist uses in the painting "Fish Magic" of 1925.

The canvas is dark, an unformed background, as it was prior to the birth and explosion of life which was the big bang: at the beginning, there was darkness. This darkness is the stuff that is the subconscious, which lies under the appearance of things, and even of ourselves which is hard to see and comprehend, which appears to be a mystery. Knowing our unconscious, like the secrets of existence is a difficult, but not impossible job an arduous task not all of us are ready to face. The light of the moon shines in the darkness
Klee's magical fish don't claim to be real, they are only light that illuminates the darkness. They live in the dark, creatures of the subconscious. The artist works on into the surface of unconscious as well as the canvas, beneath which there are hidden and vivid images, characters, colours, plants forms and images. You believe that you are aware of every inch of who you are but you forget that there exists, in the most hidden and inseparable parts of you, a fish with a tail that wags and that, although it is relegated down into a place that is not accessible to the mind the fish releases visceral thoughts and jelly. You forget, then, that distant dream, remained childhood and locked within a bubble. It was nothing but the bowl of a fish. And paul klee lies there, a fish viper that turns and turns in the sphere. It now it shows its teeth. You see only its glistening, unformed form because you've slid away the shutter, and the darkness has filled the room.

Accustoming to the senses
Just when everything is still and quiet but it's easier to see light, perceive motion, and hear rustling sounds It's just a matter of having to adapt your senses to being in darkness. The fish are aware of you, however they do not evaluate you, and thus do not need boundaries to delimit them. They are at home in darkness but they're not afraid of sometimes being snagged and having their energy shine out like a flash of lightning, similar to an eureka or ray of energy that flows up the spine and explodes in the brain, similar to the electric current that swims along the cables of light. Fish are just like that, swimming, bobbing and bouncing in their flow The vast ocean is their home , and they don't fear the absence of walls and borders. On the contrary, it happens in the space the world that they can enjoy the feeling of being able to be present today, not in the future as well as the freedom to roam forever, knowing that they will always find their way back because in the oceans of the unconscious the path is circular.
