Minecraft is among the most popular games across different platforms, but it doesn't use non-fungible tokens or NFTs. PREMIUM E Mojang, the game's developer has announced on Wednesday on its blog that it won't allow Minecraft NFTs.
"To ensure that Minecraft players have a safe and inclusive experience, blockchain technologies are not allowed to be used inside our Minecraft client or server applications, nor may they be used to create NFTs with any game-related content, such as worlds, personal items, skins or other mods," Mojang said.
The developer said there have been companies that created NFTs that are related to Minecraft however, it believes these tokens aren't inclusive , and "create an environment of haves and the not-so-haves." Mojang has also expressed concern about fraud and artificially high prices for NFTs.
NFTs are still not fully accepted by the gaming industry. However, there have been some success stories that didn’t last due to the crypto winter. Experts believe NFTs will become the norm in gaming once someone can figure out the best method to implement them.
