Yes the image above is an actual map created in Minecraft. https://souldevteam.net/ It's a part of a vast, realistic terrain project that provides 16 square kilometers of varied topography for you to build your own on. It's a stunning collection deserts mountains, swamps, and forests that you can download and use as a backdrop for your own Minecraft constructions.
This map is dubbed Kythor and was created by Qwryzu using World Machine and World Painter. It took around two months to complete. "I deliberately designed this map with huge open spaces to build," qwryzu says, "specifically with mods (shoutout Immersive Railroading gang). While it's not the most detailed map I have ever created, I do hope the map serves as a backdrop for large-scale constructions.
You can download the map for yourself on Planet Minecraft. It's available for Java Edition, and while it was built in 1.12.2 It should be compatible with any version currently in use but qwryzu doesn't know if the world height changes in 1.17 could cause issues.
