Badlion is a hugely popular Minecraft launcher that bundles many things together, has officially been ported to Linux with the Badlion Client 3.1 update.
It's not worth it. It provides a variety of additional features straight out of the box including enhancements such as Optifine and their own "Betterframes" tool as well as anti-cheat (not in the Linux version) and a variety of tweaks for FPS improvements, quite a few mods are available, including Minimap, ArmorStatus, PotionStatus, Crosshair, CPS (clicks per second), and many more. Many thousands of users use it, and it's nice to see options on Linux official like this.
This is how it looks as it appears on Linux. Extremecraft.De First is the actual launcher and the second is an in-game picture with their own menu system.
They discussed the Linux release and stated:
We are excited to announce today that the Badlion client is now accessible for Linux users. Over the past few months our development team has been working tirelessly to finish the final elements of Linux support. This includes resolving the compatibility problems we discussed in our announcement post on Linux last year. Just in the nick of time for BLC 3.1 the team of developers was able to finish the Linux support.
We want to quickly thank the Linux community for their patience over the past few months. Although we are sorry that the Linux version was not available at the end 2020 as we had hoped We hope you're still looking forward to downloading the most complete Minecraft version free of charge!
It is available here. It is provided as an AppImage and should work with most Linux distributions.
