Technoblade Technoblade, a YouTube character who has gained millions of followers thanks to his humorous commentary on videos of him playing Minecraft was killed his father announced via a video uploaded to his son's YouTube account.

More than 11 million subscribers made it a habit of watching screen recordings of Technoblade's Minecraft gameplay, while he gave commentary on the game off camera. He presented the everyday events of life in his videos that range from the mundane to going to a D.M.V. or as devastating as being diagnosed with cancer.

Technoblade's YouTube channel uploaded the video "so long geeks" on Thursday. It has been viewed more 26 million times by Friday afternoon. The video is a departure from the channel's usual aesthetic which is characterized by vibrant bricks with pixelated colors. Instead, Technoblade's father appears in a chair , accompanied by an adorable white dog and a stark white background.

His father, who doesn't identify himself, reads an email from his son that begins: "Hello everyone. Technoblade here. You can see me dead if you're watching this.

The message continues to reveal Technoblade's birth name, Alex, which he did not use on the internet. The video also features a handful of pictures of Alex with his loved ones. Alex had never presented himself in his YouTube videos, preferring instead to portray himself as his character: a crowned, sword-wielding pig.

"If I had another hundred lives, I think I would choose to be Technoblade repeatedly," Alex's letter says. "Those were the most enjoyable years of my life."

His father, who is emotional throughout the film, says he and his son talked for months about whether to make a final video. The father of the son says that Alex wrote the letter and died eight hours later.

"I don't think he's was able to say everything he wanted say, but I believe he got the main points," he says.

The video concludes with a declaration written by Alex's mother (who isn't identified) wrote. IRC101 She wrote that her son was averse to fame and was self-deprecating as his channel skyrocketed in popularity.

She wrote that Technoblade was always looking for ways to delight and reward their fans. He gave away prizes online and encouraged good sportsmanship and most importantly, shared his Minecraft adventures to entertain and laughter.

Alex's family was not able to be reached on Friday. Hypixel is a gaming company has stated that the family asked that no comments be made to them. "The video they shared contains all the information they're confident about sharing at this point," Don Pireso, the company's lead administrator told Twitter in a direct message.

Alex first publicly acknowledged the diagnosis of cancer in a video that was posted on his channel in August. Like the other videos, the video showed the game while he was speaking off camera. He kept his self-deprecating, humorous style, refusing to get too earnest. He also admitted his age of 22.

In the video, he narrated how the first round of chemotherapy left him exhausted to the point that he couldn't even sit up to make a virtual appointment with a doctor. Then the comedian joked: "Sitting in a chair is that me being Superman?"

After experiencing extreme pain in his arm he claimed he was diagnosed. He initially dismissed it as a repetitive stress injury caused by playing video games, but even after a few days of rest, he claimed, his shoulder "was swelling like a tiger."

He also advised people to obtain a Covid-19 vaccine, saying that the treatment for cancer affected his immune system, which put him at risk of developing serious illness from the coronavirus.

He said, "I'm going ahead and represent all cancer patients when I declare it incredibly annoying when the hospitals get overworked by patients suffering from preventable illnesses." "I'm just saying, we're entitled to those hospital beds."

Technoblade's fans, friends, and followers on social media praised for his humor and also for being an inspiration for Minecraft players.

Minecraft is different from other games in that the owner, Microsoft does not have control over the servers where players can connect online. Instead, players can build their own servers or join one that was created by someone else, creating an expansive universe of worlds within the Minecraft universe.

Hypixel which runs a network of Minecraft servers, announced that it had created a digital book where people could write messages and then they could be printed and sent out to Technoblade's family and friends. The tribute featured a picture of Technoblade's pig character as a statue. "In many ways the success of many of us is dependent on the success of Technoblade," the company said.
