The past is gone, and in for the future! DHAKACOURIER Today, we're introducing a new name convention (well, it's been a while) for Minecraft Java Edition. The release candidate was the original pre-release. However, we are now making this more clear by changing the name to "release candidate". This means that if there are no major issues after this release and no other changes are required, they will not be done before the full release.
In the context of the complete release If you've been living under a rock (it's Minecraft, so that's okay), we're rolling out the Nether Update on Tuesday, June 23. The next week!

Release candidates are now available for Minecraft: Java Edition. To install the release candidate, start the Minecraft Launcher and enable snapshots in the "Installations" tab.
