在口腔綜合科，一整層偌大的診療空間再細分牙周黏膜科、口腔颌面外科、修復科、牙體牙髓科、兒童牙科，每個小科室各自有幾位主治醫師，臨床看診外也負責指導教學實習生。 不同於口院其他樓層的科室，口腔綜合科開放較多權限來讓實習生參與治療，實習生也可以自己跟病患約診，在操作上有任何問題可以隨時請教一旁坐鎮的主治醫師，一整年實習大部分就待在口腔綜合科的各個小科室輪轉，口腔綜合科也是我們第一周主要見習的地方。 病患在看診前已認知療程大部分是由口腔實習生執行，相對診療費也有一定的優惠，這個制度不僅給實習生充足的操作機會，落實「教學醫院」的宗旨，病患在就診也有另外經濟實惠的就診選項。 在沒有根管治療學之前，牙髓發生病變的牙齒均難逃一拔。 如果牙 髓病變已到了末期，由於牙髓壞死而導至牙根尖也有病變時，就算目前 治療完善，將來仍然可能發生問題,因此有可能需要拔掉。 另外，如果細菌頑固，或病人本身抵抗力太低，或是準備做放射線治療前，也有可能 需要拔掉。 而天然牙齒仍保持越久，對我們口腔越有利，因此儘可能不拔。
然而對於植牙，許多的患者仍對於植牙程序不太了解。 究竟植牙手術過程是什麼、植牙手術時間多久、以及大家最關心的：植牙可以撐多久？
您可以在普通牙科診所進行局部麻醉，直接拔牙。 一般使用牙槽部浸潤麻醉，或對有關的神經干做阻滯麻醉。
