Minecraft Crosses 1 trillion Views On YouTube

Minecraft surpasses 1 trillion views on YouTube

YouTube views of Minecraft go over 1 trillion views

You really, really like Minecraft

By Ash Parrish

Long before the metaverse was the most popular destination for tech companies as well as newlyweds there was Minecraft. It began as a video game about avoiding explosions caused by cactus monsters that hissed. The platform was the blank canvas where millions of people could create and upload their content and generate millions of views. Today, YouTube, in collaboration with Minecraft developer Mojang is celebrating the trillionth view (trillion with the letter T) with a timeline of the game's unique and transformative story on the platform.

Minecraft's chief storyteller Lydia Winters credits the game's trillion views and appreciation for the many ways Minecraft players share their stories to Minecraft.

"We have people who are off on an adventure and people who are building and people who play together, and all of those ways of playing are important to us," she tells The Verge. Her job as Minecraft's chief storyteller is to build and sustain a world that players love. This has been a key factor in the game's popularity.

"The reason why Minecraft has been so popular on YouTube is because YouTube videos are a method to tell stories," she says. "So then when you have Minecraft, and you can tell any story you like in a Minecraft world It's one of the main reasons why we have so many people creating Minecraft content."

"All the ways to play are important to us"

According to the figures According to the figures, Minecraft's YouTube channel has more than 35,000 creators who represent more than 150 countries. The type of content available that can be found on YouTube includes everything from simple role-playing games like "Let's Plays" to videos that don't feature actual gameplay from Minecraft in any way.

Earnest Pettie is the YouTube trend and culture leader. He is aware of the amazing and bizarre ways that Minecraft users use the site. He's fascinated by one creator in particular who has adopted the Minecraft style and is well-known in the Minecraft community, but isn't actually playing the game.

"Interestingly, one of the most popular trends on Minecraft is actually animation and that's animation that was made using Minecraft or animation taken from the Minecraft style," Petite says. "There's this creator named Jake Fellman, who creates YouTube shorts. He has created more than 100 Minecraft-inspired shorts, which are actually computer animated. He is one of the most well-known Minecraft creators this year.

Fellman's videos are 15 second bursts of hyperrealistic "What if Minecraft graphics were rendered using the Unreal Engine 5" shorts that feature cute interactions with animals or monsters and garner over 1 million views a pop.

YouTube provides a fascinating breakdown of YouTube's history over the last 11 years. It contains stats graphs, facts, and graphs about how YouTube reached 1 trillion views.

It's fascinating to observe how the popularity of Minecraft videos changes as time passes. In the beginning when it was a multi-million-view hit, the most popular were music video parodies of Minecraft well-known characters like CaptainSparklez. Dream who recently received the Game Award for content creators of the year, is now the top-rated Minecraft player thanks to his Minecraft manhunt series. The series shows his friends trying to stop his development.

Minecraft is the most played game on YouTube ever. In the year 2020, it racked up more than 200 billion views. the second spot - interestingly Roblox another sandbox-style game that earned less than half that. Part of that seemingly untouchable popularity is because of Minecraft's inherent nature. It's an open space full of creation and iteration of that creation in a manner that no other video game can boast. Pettie also refers to the community as a further reason.

"One trillion views isn't possible without the creative ingenuity of the creators who have uploaded Minecraft videos over the years," he says.
