Warcraft 3 is being remastered and will be released next year.
One of the most memorable RTS games ever is getting a new paint job.
Warcraft 3, the seminal RTS that launched Warcraft as a major franchise and introduced a mod called DOTA which is currently being remastered. The title is Warcraft 3: Reforged, the remaster will be released "next year" and will come with an all new look that will update the graphics and animations to look stunningly high-res (4K is supported) while still retaining that fun Warcraft charm.

There are some exciting new features, too. Every playable hero will be available as male or female and there will be skins available to modify their appearance in the game. Don't fret, though, as Reforged will also have an editor that lets you still create your own maps and game modes.
This was a surprise announcement out of Blizzcon 2018 but we had a hint that this might be happening due to the fact that Warcraft 3 was originally released in the year 2000. Warcraft 3 received some patches (opens in a new tab) in the last year. This was a surprise, considering the age of the game.
