All the Minecraft Cheats and Commands you'll ever Need

Minecraft cheats are used via commands, special code inputs that are inserted into the console. They allow you to alter aspects and elements of your game, including the ability to teleport, create items and more. Unfortunately you are only able to play this game if you're playing the PC version of the game, where Minecraft cheats are implemented properly. People in PlayStation, Xbox, Switch or Mobile versions of Minecraft will not be in a position to cheat however, for those who are PC players we'll teach you how to gain full control and use Minecraft cheats and commands to your heart's content and a full command list to use from.



How to make use of Minecraft commands



You can use cheats in Minecraft by using Java Edition or Bedrock Edition.



Open Minecraft singleplayer Create a new world


Go to Game Settings


Click on "Allow Cheats" to toggle it off


Create and join the global market


Once inside the world press the forward key (or) to open the chat window


Enter the command, then hit enter.

If cheating is desired in a game that you have already begun, you can do so via the Game Settings menu by pressing ESC and editing it in the Game Settings menu. You'll need to be the creator of the world that you're in, however! Visitors to your world can't edit or alter the elements of it because it's not their domain to do so.



Instead of typing individual player names into the prompt instead, you can use these shortcuts to select specific targets to your command:



@p = the closest player to you


@r = Random player


@a = All players around the world


@e = All entities around the globe


@s = you


For coordinates, these are expressed as x y z, where x is the distance east (+) or west (-) of the point of origin, z is the distance south (+) or north (-) of the origin point and y is the height between zero to 255, and 64 is sea level. To express relative coordinates that are offset from your current location, you can use the tilde () or caret () or caret (). The notation itself represents zero or 0 - i.e. no offset. Tilde offsets are based on the world coordinates, so the 5 5 is +5 blocks on x (east), 0 blocks on y (same height), and -5 blocks on z (north). Caret offsets are calculated based on the direction that the player's head is facing with respect to the forward, left and upward axes. So 5 -5 would mean 5 blocks left, 5 blocks upwards (same height) 5 blocks backward.



Minecraft player cheats and commands



/kill [player] - Kill yourself (or specified player)



- Teleport yourself or a certain player to the entered coordinates



- Applies the effect to the specified player or entity, for an option duration in seconds. Here is a list of effects codes.



Clear all effects or, optionally, just the specific effect from the player or entity.



- At an additional level, apply the enchantment to the player's selected item. A list of enchantment codes is available here.



Adds the specified amount of experience points to the specified player. To add experience levels, put the word levels at the end of the line.



Minecraft cheats for the world and environment, as well as commands



Seed creates an identifier for your seed that you can use to recreate your world in the future.



- Set the world spawn location according to the player's current location, or optional specified coordinates if you enter them.



You or a third player can choose the game mode (use survival, creative adventure, or spectator).



- This query will determine the value of a particular game rule or amend it in the event that an optional value has been entered. A list of rules codes can be found here.



- Adjusts the difficulty level (use normal, peaceful, or hard).



- Sets the world's play time. Use the following values: 0 (Dawn), 1000(Morning), 6000(Midday), 12000 (12000) or 18000 (Night).



To reactivate the night/day cycle, switch off the day/night cycle, and replace false with true



- Sets the type of weather (use rain, clear, or thunder) for an option duration in seconds



- Stop weather changes, replace false with true to activate



- Clones the blocks in the region between coordinates and the blocks are then placed with coordinates in the northwest corner



Minecraft Item and Mob cheats and commands



/give [quantity] - Adds item to player's inventory, in specified quantity if item is stackable. A list of item codes is available here.



Keep inventory items even if you are away. Replace false with true to reverse the process



- Spawns the entity at the location of the player, or optional specified coordinates in the event of entering. A list of entity codes is here
