I Want to Craft Stuff!
Let's start by punching some trees! The blocks that form the tree will break and drop wood. Certain blocks require stronger tools than fists to breakthem, but this is the fundamentals of how Minecraft works : break (or 'mine') a block, pick it up, then place it somewhere else to build something beautiful!
Open your inventory screen. The screen will display everything you've purchased from the world. The four squares on the upper right are your personal crafting area. Move a portion of the wood into a crafting square. A fifth square will contain four planks of wood. Add them to your inventory and you'll have them!
Servers
This is known as crafting. It's very easy to do, as you might have observed.
Keep crafting until you have four planks. Then, place all of them in your crafting area to create a table for crafting. You can now drag the table you've created to your toolbar, which will allow you to hold it in your hands before putting it in the actual world! Just walk towards it and use it - a brand new (and more effective!) crafting window will pop up. The grid is larger and allows you to develop more complex recipes. "Recipes" are the mix of ingredients needed to create stuff.
