YouTuber and Minecraft Streamer Technoblade, 23, Dies from Cancer

YouTuber and Minecraft streamer Technoblade has passed away at 23 years old after a year-long battle with cancer of stage 4.



The content creator from San Francisco who kept his identity a secret until revealing his name in the final video "Alex" gained fame after posting videos of himself playing Minecraft online in 2013. He eventually gained more than 10 million subscribers.



He was diagnosed with stage four cancer last August and had spent most of the past year in a secluded area while undergoing chemotherapy.



While it is not known the type of cancer Alex was diagnosed with however, he was able to raise money for charities fighting sarcoma and in December, he revealed that he had undergone surgery to remove a tumor on his arm.



In a video posted to Technoblade's YouTube channel on the day of the release, which was titled "So long nerds," his father, whose name is unknown was able to share the sad news of his son's death with his numerous fans and shared a posthumous farewell from the famed YouTube star.



He described his son as "the most amazing child" and shared an audio recording of his son. He said that if he could have another hundred lives, he would prefer to be Technoblade once more , because those were the best years of my life.



Technoblade, a YouTuber and Minecraft streamer, has died after an extensive battle with cancer. His family has confirmed.



Technoblade was a very private person who never shared his personal details. He mostly uploaded videos on the sandbox game Minecraft.



He had three younger sisters and a brother named Chris and a dog called Floof which was in his farewell video alongside his father.



In one video, he revealed his parents divorced, and he lived with his father who owns a movie studio.



After graduating high school, he took a gap-year before moving to Chicago to study English.

But he retreated to San Francisco after dropping out.



In one of his videos, He explained the process of creating the Tecnoblade channel for the sole purpose of building confidence and getting 10 million subscribers.



He quickly gained a massive following, sharing multiple clips of him playing Minecraft with them, however the player never revealed his identity or name to the fans.



In August, he shared the shocking news of his diagnosis with cancer in a video called 'where I've been', which has been watched more than 13 million times.



He told the story of being diagnosed with cancer following a suspicion that he had a fracture to his arm.



The content creator (seen at left) who was not revealing his name or identity prior to when the final video was uploaded was diagnosed with cancer stage 4 last year.



Thinking it was a stress injury due to his ongoing gaming, he decided to take a few days off - before realizing it wasn't going away.
