R: I'm good too, thank you for asking. Well, I'm glad to hear that you're doing good. So, I can see here that you are calling because you need assistance with activating your xFi gateway. Is that correct?
C: Yes, I've been trying to activate it myself multiple times, but it doesn't work at all.
R: Oh, I see. Thank you, Devra, for taking the time to do it on your own and for choosing xFinity to be your service provider. Rest assured that you have an expert here and I will take it from here so you can start using the service in no time. So, I presumed that you have already downloaded the Xfinity App, right? And is your phone with you right now?
C: Yes!
R: Perfect! Now I need you to launch the app again and sign in using your Xfinity ID and password.
C: It's done.
R: Good! Now do you see a "Get Started" pop up message?
C: No!
R: Okay! No worries, we'll activate it in another way. Will you please click the Account icon you will see in the top-left corner of the interface and then click overview and select Activate xFI gateway or modem in the Devices section please.
C: Got it! It says here that I need to identify my gateway.
R: Yes that's it. You need to scan the qr code that you can see at the bottom of your gateway or you can just manually enter the code.
C: Done with it.
R: Perfect! Now I need you to make sure that your gateway is placed in an open space and make sure it is a few feet off the floor to maximize the WIFI coverage. If your done with that, I need you to connect the coax cable to the gateway and active cable outlet and please make sure to have it tightly done.
C: Everything is good.
R: Nice! Now can you see a blinking/steady white light on the top part of your gateway?
C: Yes!
R: Awesome! Now your gateway is ready to activate. We will now proceed with the next steps, please select "ready to go" so we can check if your connection is active. Checking might take 2-3 minutes, so, please bear with it and while we're at it, do you know that you when you sign up for xfinity you are eligible for an xfinity mobile plan?
Ooh I seem to be hearing tiny voices, are those your kids?
I have kids myself and I know how kids are very fanatic and adamant on watching kids shows now adays. Even when you're in the street or in the car with them and if you don't let them have what they would totally be in rage.
C: It is active. Thank God!
R: Congratulations! You can now personalize your home WIFI username and password, but you may also change it later if you don't want to change it for now. Would you like to change it?
C: Not for now.
R: Okay. Please select "Next" and confirm your WIFI username and password, and then select "confirm and finish up".
C: It's done.
R: That's good to hear. We're down to the final step. Do you want your network to automatically connect or manually connect?
C: I want to manually connect it.
R: We'll that's it, if you need to connect your devices just copy/input your xFi gateway password so your device can connect to the network. I suggest that you set it automatically connect if you have elderly in the house.
