這些復發原因，以現在的矯正醫學還無法百分之百的避免，醫師可以做的建議，就是要患者勤勞地戴維持器，如果有口腔異常功能的患者也需戒除，以保持齒顎之穩定。 但是即使戴了維持器，還是會因為患者個人條件的不同，有些人有可能會再復發，有些人就不大會，這是因人而異的。 一旦復發到不好看或影響功能時，就要考慮再治療。 七歲矯正基本上是一個提醒家長注意自己小孩牙齒發育情況的時間點，所以所需的診斷當然在即將滿七歲就可以開始，由專業的早期矯正醫師來進行診斷評估。
牙醫會在補牙完成後打磨填充物，但填充物仍可能留下尖銳邊角。 因為局部麻醉的關係，起初您可能無法察覺這種情況。 如發現填充物有尖角，立即聯絡牙醫並安排打磨，避免尖角令口腔受傷。 向牙醫講述敏感情況時，盡量準確描述，這樣才能幫助牙醫決定下一步。 您的牙醫可能會更換現有的填充物，並同時加入底座或襯底及塗抹脫敏劑。
通常我會建議，依患者自己清潔的能力決定是否拔除。 如果位置太後方清潔不到並且對咬合沒有幫助的智齒，會建議拔除。 通常服藥 1 – 3 個月會發生，牙齦腫大後若同時口腔衛生不佳，就可能進入發炎更嚴重、更腫和牙周病的惡性循環。 我收治的牙周患者大部分屬年長者，但其中最年輕十歲時就有嚴重牙周破壞！ 先透過第一階段牙周治療，搭配抗生素輔助、加強口腔衛教，持續每三個月追蹤，牙周症狀才比較穩定。
複合填充物可能會被唾液污染，減弱填充物及牙齒之間的粘接程度，引致滲漏問題。 由於牙齒會在補牙時收縮，填充物及牙齒之間可能會隨時間出現細小空隙。 填充物無法承受巨大壓力，如門牙崩裂，牙醫會建議使用與牙齒顏色相近的陶瓷牙冠去進行修補。
因為根管治療就是將牙齒的本身結構破壞掉了，絕大多數的狀況下，都是以人工復形物將失去的結構恢復。 目前第二大臼齒(最後面那顆)，剛做完根管治療兩次，醫生說清乾淨了暫時封起來觀察，建議我先去把右側上下的智齒拔掉後休養一周回診拆線並填補或製作牙套。
