Tiger Woods has been busting Fred Funk's chops for days. He even talked about 'winning skins' on par 5s when he watched Fred Funk four-putt at the Players Championship. Woods said it was "an amazing shot" to see. After all, he was in the same position as the defending champion.

Woods has a problem gauging the speed of the greens, but he will still be in the field next week. While his swing needs work, he has had a good week to start the tournament. He ranked 12th in strokes gained off the tee, eighth on the approach to the green, and 145th in putting.

Woods was in a three-shot lead over Chris DiMarco after three rounds of the tournament. Most observers believed he would win the tournament by at least seven strokes. However, he struggled down the stretch, making two errors on the 18th green. That pushed him into a playoff with DiMarco.
