Minecraft is nearing updates that could fundamentally alter the way you play when you want to play with game mechanics... or simply get lost in the virtual world. Kd76 A new update due out on the 18th of October for Minecraft's Windows 10, Pocket and Gear VR editions will introduce Add-Ons that allow you to alter how objects and characters behave by altering text files. Want giant chickens, or Creepers that trigger huge explosions? It's now a simple task. It's a great way to get into the world mods without learning programming.
VR users have better controller support. You can play with the Bluetooth-equipped Xbox One gamepad (like the one that ships with the Xbox One S) in the Windows 10 or Gear VR versions of the game, and PC players with an Oculus Rift can use Oculus Touch hand controllers. If Minecraft in VR remains a conventional PC or mobile game for the moment but it will be an entirely different experience after the update.
The new software adds boss battles to Windows 10, Pocket, and Gear VR versions.
Console players won't need to wait until the 18th to have something new, however. Microsoft and Mojang are releasing an Chinese Mythology Mash-Up that, as the name suggests introduces characters and a new world inspired by China's culture. There are banners as well as more logical biomes, such as Igloos and polar bears in arctic climates. The update will be available for Xbox and Wii U gamers on October 4th and PlayStation players on October 5th.
