Minecraft star Stampy Cat to present an RSE Christmas lecture

YouTube and Minecraft legend Stampy Cat will deliver a lecture to around 2,000 Dundee schoolchildren.
Stampy - his real name is Joseph Garrett - will give the Royal Society of Edinburgh's Christmas lecture in the city's Caird Hall on Monday.
His YouTube channel has more than 6.7 million users.
The lecture will air exclusively on BBC iPlayer next Thursday.
BBC Scotland said Minecraft fans will, for the very first time, be able to see Stampy demonstrate how he makes his videos in a discussion with Dundee games entrepreneur Chris van der Kuyl.
Stampy will talk through the process of making his Christmas special and give viewers an insight into his life and a career which has seen him become one of the world's most popular YouTubers.
Mr. van der Kuyl said Stampy was the "epitome of the 21st Century digital native" who would inspire viewers regardless of their age.

"Stampy is an inspirational figure to a whole new generation that can clearly see that the future of careers will depend on a unique mix of talents, creativity , and technical skills that can be mastered," he said.
The RSE lecture will be held as part of BBC Make it Digital, an initiative to encourage digital creativity among children and teens.
