Minecraft is a game that involves placing blocks and exploring.
Introduction
This chart creates a Minecraft Services Pod and Pod for the Minecraft server.
Prerequisites
A 512 MB RAM Kubernetes 1.4+ with Beta APIs enabled PV provisioner support within the underlying infrastructure
Installing the Chart
To install the chart using the release name my-release Read the Minecraft EULA run:
This command creates an Minecraft dedicated server using sensible defaults.
Tip: List all the releases using the helm list
Uninstalling the Chart
To uninstall/delete my-release deployment
This command deletes all Kubernetes components that are part of the chart.
Configuration
For more information about defaults, refer to values.yaml. These are a mixture of Kubernetes and Minecraft-related directives that map to environment variables in the itzg/minecraft-server Docker image.
Specify each parameter using the --set key=value[,key=value] argument to helm install. For example:
You can also upload a YAML file that contains the values of the parameters when installing the chart. For instance:
Tip: You can use the default values.yaml
Persistence
The itzg/minecraft-server image stores the saved games and mods under /data.
By default a PersistentVolumeClaim is created and mounted for saves but not mods. In order to disable this feature, modify the values.yaml to disable persistence under the sub-sections under persistence.
Johnfladung
"An emptyDir volume was created when a pod was assigned to an Node. It stays there as long as the Pod is running on the Node." When a Pod is removed from a Node for any reason, the information in the emptyDir file is deleted permanently."
