Free Mario download for Minecraft players

Mario is hopping from one computer-generated world to another as Mario makes his debut in Minecraft.
A new update for the Wii U version will bring Mario, Luigi and Wario, Toad, Princess Peach and numerous other Super Mario Bros characters, to the game starting next Tuesday.
The most appealing aspect is that the colorful characters are free, in these days of expensive downloadable content.

The Mario pack will bring more than just characters into the pixelated world of Minecraft.
Players will also be able re-skin the game's objects and textures, and fight blockier versions of Hammer Bros. and Dry Bones from the Mario world, all set to the soothing sounds of classic songs from Super Mario 64.

Fans can create their own Mario-themed locations using Minecraft blocks, and then explore new worlds with classic faces (albeit slightly more angular) from one of the most well-known games in history.
A disc-based version of Minecraft for Wii U, including all the Mario extras, is expected to launch in June.
