'Minecraft Dungeons' on XCloud has been Optimized for Touchscreens

Microsoft's long-awaited xCloud game streaming service will officially launch tomorrow with more than 150 games. One of the games available is Minecraft Dungeons, and Microsoft has announced that the developers Mojang Studios and Double Eleven have made it easier to play the game on the go by optimizing it to touch controls. This means that you will be able to play the game on your Android phone or tablet without needing to hook up an external controller.



Pretty much all Xbox games that are part of xCloud were designed with the Xbox controller in mind, and Microsoft believes that most people will be playing them by clipping the controller to their smartphone. MINECRAFT-SERVER.CO In this case, Microsoft wanted the game to feel more native to mobile devices, which is why it'll feature not just touch controls but also a new user interface that is more suited to smaller screens. This will allow users to navigate inventories and menus, and any text that may be associated with them.



For optimizing the game for touch, Microsoft notes that moves players make the most (move melee, move ranged attack, dodge and move) are located in the most "intuitive" places on the screen. The idea is that the whole experience will feel as if the game was designed with mobile in mind, rather than a touch-based control being an afterthought. Of course, we'll need to play the game ourselves to determine the success of these games however it's a positive indication to observe Microsoft considering ways to make games work as best they can be when played away from your television and console.
