Ween is an American-based rock band, hailing from New Hope Pennsylvania. Aaron Freeman, Mickey Melchiondo and Mickey Melchiondo direct the group. They are generally considered to be an alternative rock band. They are well-known for their off-beat senses and unique songwriting. The group is well-known for their loud live shows and ability to play festival circuits. They even performed a song called "The Golden Eel", which they did on the comedy show Viva Variety. This performance happened on the heels of their 1996 Shit Creek Boys Tour.
The group grew in 1997 to include Glenn McClelland & Dave Dreiwitz. ween merch of them joined forces in April 1997. The duo released eight albums, several EPs and a few singles on the recording front. There are two notable albums that stand out: "Pure Guava", as well the "Push The Little Daisies" EP. After a short hiatus Ween reunited to release their first album since 2005. As is the norm with reunions, the band was hindered by a few issues, especially the loss of Michael Gira (their lead singer). The group was constantly in flux but it maintained its relevance in the rock world thanks to regular radio hits and a full touring schedule.
The group has several other notable members. Chuck Freeman (guitarist) is the most prolific of the members. He releases one album per year. The group also toured the U.S.A. and abroad, with the exception of a tour to Australia where they performed the aforementioned song. Yamantaka, who is the legendary Yamantaka Eye, sampled the aforementioned "Pure Guava". The group's touring stopped in April 2012, but it was back on the road again.
