Tom woke up, feeling dreadful as usual, he walked to his fridge for some cereal and once he opened it, to his horror, he seemed to have run out, he strolled to his shoe cabinet and quickly put his slippers on. He got in his car and headed to the store. He walked in, searching for milk ''Need anything, sir?'' Asked the lady who seemed to work there ''No. Leave me alone.'' Said Tom, aggressively. ''Alright, sir, whatever you say.'' Replied the woman. Tom walked aisle to aisle. He then heard screaming, he'd quickly duck down, heard gunshots, and saw some of the ceiling fall from the air. ''Everyone down, now!'' Yelled the man holding the gun. Tom, still ducked, headed towards the man. ''You!'' Yelled the man holding the gun, ''Think you can get away!?'' He then asked, now pointing his gun at Tom. Tom stood, almost frozen in fear, people staring whilst Tom left reality, he was trying to find his safe space.
but suddenly, ''Hello!? Hello!?'' Tom quickly shook his head, leaving his safe space and saw the man with the gun yelling. ''You there, buddy?!'' He yelled once more. Tom looked at the man, his expression turning to anger ''Do it!'' Said Tom, firmly ''Shoot me!'' Shouted Tom. The people who were gathered gasped in shock, now seeing the man ready to pull the trigger ''And why should I?'' Said the man. ''Because if I escape, I can report you to the police.'' Said Tom, spreading his arms, ready to take the bullet. Suddenly the man dropped the gun and exploded, turning into a type of smoke which quickly vanished, Tom was surprised and began looking around, he assumed he imagined it, people stood up in fear, walking to where the man was standing ''Is he dead?'' One man asked. ''I think so...'' Said another. Tom ran out, forgetting his purpose for entering the store he got in his car and drove to a hospital. He got to the reception ''I'm mental! Lock me away, lock me away!'' He shouted, bashing his head on the plastic barrier which separated the two. Tom thought he was going mad, and wanted to be away from his family. The receptionist quickly calmed him down and took him to a seat. ''It's ok, Tom Kane.'' Said the receptionist ''How do you know my name!?'' Yelled Tom. ''I am Shimes, a guardian angel. Your... Guardian angel.'' Said Shimes, now transforming into an elegant angel, beaming with light. ''Did you kill the man?'' Asked Tom, curious and concerned ''No.'' Replied the angel ''You did, Tom. You possess great power.'' Said Shimes ''Power which man can only dream of.'' Said Shimes, speaking once again.
''Powers?'' Asked Tom ''Yes. You possess abilities far more powerful than even that of a god.'' Said Shimes ''I'm not special, I can't be special.'' Said Tom, confused. ''You are far more special than you may believe, Tom. Speciality doesn't come from one's worth, but one's heart. You were chosen, and you have to realise power is nothing compared to love.'' Said Shimes, vanishing. Tom seemed confused but wanted to test his newfound abilities. He saw a man walking, concentrating, he focused on the man, and tried to disintegrate him.
It didn't seem to work, people looked in confusion and Tom was embarrassed, suddenly the man popped, and he became dust, the smoke slowly vanished into thin air. People began to panic and Tom ran out. He started smiling, excited to find out more about his abilities. He wished for Shimes, and he appeared ''So, what other things can I do?'' Asked Tom eagerly. ''Hm. You can move objects with your mind, completely alter reality as you see fit, and combust molecular structures, you also live forever, unable to be removed from reality itself. If you gain control of these abilities, you'll be the most powerful living being in existence.'' He said, now walking along with him. ''You also have great and pure strength,'' Shimes said. ''Woah...'' Said Tom ''You possess the Light.'' Said Shimes. ''The Light?'' Asked Tom ''Yes, the Light. A light so powerful in killed a victim instantly.'' Said shimes
