- Added the option to hide names that are matching. Chat messages are often sent in non-standard formats by certain servers. If this option is enabled the game, it will attempt to use chat hiding by matching the text of messages.



- Allows players disable chat and hide messages from other players. This is accessible via a configurable key binding (default P). - The setting to hide a user's profile is reset each time you join a server again. The status of a player is displayed below their name.

- When logging in with an Microsoft account, users who are blocked on that account are now banned from playing the game and account restrictions are now being respected.


A button to open a link to the Accessibility Guide can now be located in the Accessibility Options screen.


More details are now added to the crash log in instances where poor performance causes the server to fail to function properly.

- New network protocol scheme with high bit (bit 30) set for snapshots. The protocol version will increase by 1 for each snapshot, but full releases will have the same protocol version as the previous full release in instances where the network protocols are compatible.


- If the client and server versions are incompatible If the server and client versions are not compatible, a message displayed that reads "Incompatible version!" Instead of "Client out-of-date!", a message in red will be displayed. or "Server out of date!" in dark red. - When multiplayer is disabled, the message will read "Multiplayer is disabled. Please verify your Microsoft account settings. Instead of "Multiplayer is disabled." Check your launcher settings.


The splashes associated with Black Lives Matter have been added to splashes.txt. The splashes were added to the game through an update to the launcher during 1.16.2 but they weren't included in splashes.txt. These splashes are: Be anti-racist! This was the last full version that would be released in 2020. The original release date was planned to be released on October 29, 2020, however, it was delayed by 4 days.


Note[]



- Minecraft 1.16.4 and Minecraft 1.16.5 are both network-compatible that is, 1.16.4 servers can accommodate players from 1.16.5.
