Fortune Cookies dan I Ching merupakan dua ramalan yang terkenal di Cina. Sejarah Fortune Cookies (kue yang di dalamnya ada kertas berisi ramalan) dimulai sekitar abad ke-13. Pada saat itu Cina diduduki bangsa Mongol. Waktu itu seorang patriot Cina menyamar menggunakan kue rasa kacang lotus untuk menyembunyikan pesan rahasia di dalamnya supaya bisa berkomunikasi dengan pasukan. Ia tahu bangsa Mongol tidak suka rasa kacang. Metode itu berkembang, hingga sekarang kita kenal dengan istilah Fortune Cookies.
Sedangkan I Ching adalah cara meramal yang menggunakan buku bergambar garis-garis yang membentuk 64 buah heksagram. Tiap garis melambangkan Yin atau Yang. Setiap heksagram melambangkan sesuatu dalam kehidupan kita. Penggunaan I Ching ini beragam. Ada yang menggunakan tempurung kura-kura (yang punya bentuk heksagram juga), tapi yang paling sering digunakan adalah melempar 3 buah koin.
