Hello I'm Leah Bil and I'm from Troqueer primary school and I'm sending you this letter to ask you some questions about your career in writing books and questions about the book you wrote the "War Horse".
I have a few questions to start off with then I will tell you my favourite part in War Horse and my least favourite part. How did you come up with the idea of Joey going to war and fighting for a long time, meeting a lot of people and then losing them? How long did the War Horse take to write and when did you realise you wanted to start writing books? My favourite part in the War Horse was when Joey did not get sold to a butcher and he got sold to Emilie's grandfather then Emilie's grandfather sold Joey back to Albert. My least favourite part is when I found out that Emilie died at the very end of the story. Just a couple more questions.... How many books have you wrote in your whole career of writing and what is your favourite and least favourite book?
I really enjoyed reading your War Horse book even known that it was a tiny bit sad but I loved reading that with my class. It is one of my favourite books I have ever read but also one of the saddest. If you have time please write back to me.
