About sharing

Technoblade, a Minecraft YouTuber, has died at the age of 23. His family shared an emotional farewell video on behalf of him.

The video, entitled "solong geeks" was shared to his 10,000,000 followers and showed his father saying that he was "the most amazing kid anyone could ever ask for".

The US internet personality gained fame by streaming live and sharing videos of him playing the sandbox videogame.

Technoblade announced to his fans last year that he had been diagnosed with cancer.

The farewell message, written hours before his death and read by his father, read: "Hello everyone, Technoblade here. If you're watching this. I am dead."

He then revealed that his real name was actually Alex, reminiscing about the time he had pranked viewers into thinking his name was Dave.

"Thank you all for supporting my work throughout the years," he continued. "If I had another hundred lives I'm pretty sure I'd choose to be Technoblade over and over again because those were the most joyful years of my life."

The online star, who won Minecraft tournaments and legions of fans talking about his life in a humorous fashion during the game explained in a video for fundraising released in February that he undergone chemotherapy, radiation therapy and a limb-salvage operation after he developed a painful tumor in his right arm.

He died from sarcoma which is a rare soft tissue and bone cancer.

He disclosed his cancer diagnosis in August 2021, explaining that he initially believed the pain he was experiencing was from an injury to the muscles from repetitive stress due to excessive gaming. After his arm started swelling, the patient was admitted to the hospital and was subsequently diagnosed with cancer.

Technoblade's true identity is unknown. However, his online avatar was a picture a crown pig.

His YouTube channel has 10.8 million subscribers. His bio reads: "I play too many video games. Although I may not be the greatest, I do have hot elbows..

J Schlatt recalled, "I'll never forget that day I met Technoblade." "I left my job early to take part in an Minecraft tournament. I didn't know how to play... but the dude managed to guide us through the whole event.

Technoblade's father thanked his fans in the farewell video, noting that "you really meant a lot to me"

He explained that a portion of online orders for the merchandise of his son would now go towards the cause.

The video ended with a written statement from his family that included the following: "We, the family of Technoblade wanted you to know just how much he adored and respected his fans and his colleagues.

Technoblade was active from the very beginning. He was always looking for ways to delight and reward his followers. He gave away prizes on the internet, encouraged good sportsmanship, and even shared his Minecraft adventures for laughter and entertainment.

"Even after his eventual successes he managed to maintain his good-natured humour, and compete with a sly balance between confidence and self-deprecating humor."
