Warcraft-Source Mod for EventScripts was developed in 2006 by a programmers known as Kryptonite. It was based on WC3 by Pimpin Juice, a warcraft mod that was compatible with CS 1.6. It was a lot of work as it released public versions with Kryptonite leading the WCS coding team. It was removed from official development at version.77 at the end of 2008. After it stopped development for official purposes at version.77, a handful of people came together to develop new versions of WCSmod. Warcraft:Source Python was an entire conversion of WCS to Python for stability and speed. The project was led by Jeff91 and Freddukes and the project stopped development a year later. Many add-ons and functions broke due to the Orange Box update. This was a huge setback for us, but it also forced us into a series of updates. Hetal the current leader of the official Warcraft-Source.com assigned La Muerte to keep track of the layout of the website. The site is now Tha Pwned has rewrote Warcraft Source: Shell in EventScripts: Python but still keeping its races coded in a format similar to Warcraft Source: Shell's races that allowed the new recode excellent stability while maintaining the same customizable grace as before.

WCS comes with a default racelist comprising 12 races. Its racelist is completely editable with the ability to completely customize. You can find races and addons that enhance the WCS gameplay on the official website of Warcraft-Source.
