Minecraft players will be able to alter their game's name in the near future the Mojang, the development studio Mojang has announced. The process is scheduled to launch on February 4, and appears to be pretty straightforward; Once the name-changing system has been put in place, players will be able to change their name in the game simply by logging into their account. Any name that isn't being used by other players will be available but players will need to wait 30 days before they can change their name again.
There's no need to be concerned about someone else taking your name. It takes a period of 37 days for an older name to become available to someone. If you were to change your name from, "MinecraftMasta" to something other than MinecraftMasta, we wouldn't be able to swipe MinecraftMasta for yourself before you had a chance to get it back. Mojang also announced that Minecraft: Pocket Edition has sold more than 30 million copies to date. Pocket Edition sold 21 million copies in April before being extended to Windows Phone users in December.
