While it might feel like Minecraft is everywhere, gamers have had to wait the popular game launch on all other platforms of the company bar Nintendo's. We're pleased to announce: After months, if not years, of waiting for the game to be released, the Japanese video game maker has confirmed that the Sandbox game will be coming to the Wii U in December 2017. As we had hoped, Minecraft will come with numerous add-on packs that will give new builders the chance to dress up in the lead up to Christmas or play with characters from popular television and film shows such as Star Wars, The Simpsons and Dr Who.
Mojang is also taking advantage of Off-TV Play feature on the Wii U to let players transfer their worlds onto their GamePad controller and allow other members of the family to take the TV. Minecraft will cost $30 when it is released on the Nintendo eShop North America next week. There's no information yet on the price Minecraft will cost in the UK or Europe.
