The ghost of Terenas Menethil II.

A ghost model introduced in Battle for Azeroth.

Ghosts souls who are tortured and writhe in the pain of the dead, are . Ghosts are tortured spirits that are seeking to escape their eternal suffering. Mortal souls usually travel to the Shadowlands. However ghosts roam through the Veil between the Shadowlands and the physical world.

Usually unable to realize that they're dead, they are not necessarily evil, but their lust for physical contact often causes terrible harm to living beings they contact. [1] Ghosts are not usually transformed into ghosts. The normal process of dying is when the soul is released to the Shadowlands. It is possible for spirits to transform into ghosts after a traumatizing event, or when they are under the spell or curse of magic.

The term "ghost" is sometimes used to any undead creature.

Ghosts are the spectral remnants of intelligent beings who, for one reason or another, cannot be easily buried. A ghost greatly resembles its body-like form in the world however in some instances the spiritual form may be slightly altered. [5]

Ghosts are the spectral impressions of those who died due to the plague or an extremely traumatic event. Many people who get the plague attempt to end their lives rather than joining the army of Ner'zhul. This isn't always effective and often leads to the creation of a spirit who isn't dead, but is still under the control of Ner'zhul.

Ghosts are often angry spirits that have been robbed of their lives due to circumstances or by will. They resemble their physical form, but are completely intangible. They haunt the place of their death or some other place that is integral to their past and are often violent and dangerous. They are apathetic and the thought of feeling warm and hopeful near them is enough to drive ghost into a murderous fury. Ner'zhul has not been successful in capturing or enslaving ghosts since the majority of them are insane. Ner'zhul no doubt has some ghosts in his midst - singular creatures that are powerful enough to be useful, but not enough to cause Ner'zhul followers any trouble keeping them dominated. Ghostly creatures are incredibly angry and will use their ghostly powers to destroy any opposition and break down any unfortunate souls they come across. [6]

"Ghost" is an acquired template for the Warcraft RPG and World of Warcraft RPG.
