“I care about you”
Burn me from the inside out
They make me feel sick
It’s always the same words
And yet never the right thing
They don’t care for me
Empty actions bleed empty words
An offer to talk means nothing
Simple reassurances mean nothing
Their words lack meaning
Perhaps it was never given in the first place
Did you decide I was too hard?
Or was I simply too independent?
A simple “I’m here if you want to talk”
Then the job is done
Because they know I won’t ever take it
I know that people aren’t obligated
Nor should they push people for answers
But day in day out it’s the same
“I’m here for you”
“I care about you”
“I’m here if you want to talk”
Empty promises
They’re too focused on listening
On understanding
That they forget to take action
Show that they actually care
That they’re not just a problem to be solved
Words mean nothing
If you can’t prove that you mean them
Always talking, and never doing
I hate people for that
It poisons me from the inside
Twisting and burning, making me sick
It’s ironic, isn’t it?
