造成植牙失敗的6個原因 台灣醫療技術在國際間早已享有盛名，而人工植牙技術發展至今，也有40幾年的歷史，尤其是近10年來，台灣多數患者對於植牙接受度普遍偏高，而傳統假牙亦有逐漸被人工植牙取代的趨勢，但究竟有哪些原因會造成植牙失敗？ 齒槽骨(硬組織)質量 當患者骨頭量不足時，醫師會透過填充骨粉或其他方式增加其穩定性，骨頭癒合期間若受到感染，可能會影響後續植體和骨頭整合的密度，進而造成人工植牙失敗。
而牙周病則是指因細菌堆積在牙齒及牙齦交接處，使得牙齦發炎，齒槽骨遭受破壞，最後往往造成一顆完整牙齒脫落的結果。 由於牙科的最新進展，將被感染的牙齒拔除被視為最後的手段。 即使您因牙齒感染而出現牙膿腫，根管治療也可以保留牙齒。
人工植牙本身不會蛀牙，但若牙周照護得不好，反覆感染發炎，仍有可能會染上植體周圍炎的問題，嚴重的話，可能導致骨頭吸收、甚至整個人工植牙鬆動…等。 但只要定期回診並維持口腔清潔，就能確保植體耐久穩固。 牙齒結構的損失，主要是來自於”過大的蛀洞”。 如果蛀洞侵犯牙髓腔造成疼痛，醫師會為了保全牙齒而進行根管治療(也就是俗稱的抽神經)。
期間包括口腔外科需進行鼻形塑型術或唇顎裂修補術、會診耳鼻喉科檢查中耳、語言治療孩童說話聽力功能、最後更要結合正畸科進行咬合、牙列不齊等矯正，所有的治療旨在讓唇顎裂的孩童恢復正常的功能美觀以及心理信心。 本科實習生在實習這年是不會輪轉到正畸科的，要畢業後成為研究生才會開始在這裡訓練。
