Theo Variety, thị trường Trung Quốc chào đón loạt tác phẩm Marvel trở lại sau thời gian dài chịu lệnh cấm. Quốc gia tỷ dân đã ấn định ngày phát hành cho bộ đôi bom tấn Black Panther: Wakanda Forever và Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania.
Black Panther 2 dự kiến ra mắt ngày 7/2, nối tiếp là Ant-Man 3 sẽ được phát hành ngày 17/2.
Trước đó, Avengers: Endgame (2019) là tác phẩm siêu anh hùng gần nhất được phát hành tại Trung Quốc. Bộ phim đã thu về 632 triệu USD, chỉ tính riêng doanh thu tới từ quốc gia tỷ dân này.
Không chỉ Marvel, rất nhiều tác phẩm điện ảnh Hollywood cũng chịu ảnh hưởng từ Trung Quốc trong thời kỳ đại dịch tới nay. Cuối năm xem phim hay , bom tấn Avatar: The Way of Water của đạo diễn James Cameron được coi là con tàu phá băng mang tính đột phá khi được Cục Điện ảnh Trung Quốc cho phép phát hành.
Sự trở lại của loạt phim Marvel lần này có ý nghĩa lớn đối với hãng phim, bởi đây là cơ hội trở lại với cuộc đua phòng vé toàn cầu. Trong những năm trước đây, thị trường Trung Quốc đóng góp rất nhiều vào doanh thu cho các tác phẩm Marvel nói riêng và Hollywood nói chung.
Việc phát hành Black Panther: Wakanda Forever và Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania sẽ là bài khảo sát để đánh giá thị hiếu của người dân Trung Quốc đối với các sản phẩm của Marvel Studios.
