Jungles are among the largest and most diverse biomes in Minecraft. mclijst Here's how to find the Jungle in Minecraft and what you can expect once you get there.

The information contained in this article applies to all versions of Minecraft including Minecraft: Pocket Edition.

How to Find a Jungle in Minecraft

Jungles are a rare thing in Minecraft. As with most biomes in Minecraft, Jungles have no set location, but they usually have a greater chance of spawning close to Savannas, Mesas, and Desert biomes. Jungles are immediately noticeable due to the large number of tall trees. They will nearly cover the roof of the Jungle with their leaves.

An external tool known as Biome Finder can assist you in locating the exact location of Jungle biomes.

Jungle Trees

Jungle trees can grow up to 30 blocks high and are usually covered in vines that players can climb. The base of the biggest Jungle tree is made up of four blocks. This lets you gather 120 blocks of wood from one tree. Jungle trees also make great bases for treehouses.

The wood takes a slight pinkish-red hue when the tree's Jungle Wood is refined and transformed into Jungle Wood Planks. The only unique feature of the Jungle Wood Planks is their color. Like all Planks they can be turned into different tools and objects which means you can make different colors of things like Doors, Boats, or Stairs.

Jungle Types

Jungles biomes come in different variations:

- Regular Jungle

- Jungle Hills

- Jungle Edge

- Bamboo Jungles

Jungle Hills are more dangerous than normal Jungle biomes. It is best to remain on the ground in a Jungle Hill until you can find the means to keep your body safe in the air. In the Edge varieties of the Jungle biome the trees are smaller and further apart. Bamboo Jungles are mini-biomes found within regular Jungles. They have smaller trees and are more likely to have pandas.

Jungle Ocelots

Ocelots can only be found within the Jungle biome. While they are hard to find because of the sheer number of the trees and bushes, Ocelots are definitely worth the effort as they repel Minecraft Creepers that attempt to sneak up on you.

To capture an Ocelot to catch an Ocelot, slowly approach the animal using an uncooked fish. Once the mob has spotted you and isn't fleeing you must stop and stay where you are. Allow the Ocelots to approach you and then feed them, gaining their trust.

Jungle Temples

In certain Jungle biomes, you can find mysterious structures made out of Mossy Cobblestone or Chiseled Stone Bricks. These Jungle Temples are filled with traps, puzzles, treasure and much more. You can find items like a Arrows and Bones, as well as rotten Flesh and Saddles.

Jungle Plants

Cocoa plants are unique to the Jungle biome and grow on the sides of Jungle Trees. The Cocoa plant comes in three varieties of small green forms and a medium-sized yellow-orange form, and a ready-to-harvest dark orange-brown type. Cocoa can be used to make food products and alter the color of foods. Cocoa Beans can be used only on Jungle Wood and, therefore, if you plan to bring it out of the Jungle to begin an agricultural enterprise, you must bring a few pieces of Jungle Wood with you.
