The blocky sandbox game that is so popular Minecraft is close to 54 million copies sold across all platforms, claims Mojang's Patrick Geuder, who also tweeted that the console (Xbox 360 and PS3) versions of the game have exceeded sales of the PC and Mac versions. The game will be available on Xbox One, PS4 or Vita in August. The Vita version of the game is cross-buy compatible and is free for users who have the PS3 version. Xbox One and PS4 owners who have the game installed on Xbox 360 or PS3 will be able download the new-gen versions for $5.
The alpha version of Minecraft was released in May 2009. Yery.net This was two years prior to its official release in November. Mojang and Markus "Notch", Persson, the creator of Minecraft have reached numerous milestones in the sales. Recently, Mojang reported that 15 million copies had been sold of the PC version.
