I have all of the warcraft lore in my head with the diff races events and lands. I've spent hours researching on new content in wowpedia over the years. (Used to be called Wowwiki until later in the year. R.I.P. Wowwiki).
It's not something I can do at all times. However, I can make chains and links, and not be confused about facts or the opinions of any characters on the subject. It helps i've read some of the comics, borrowed a few books and played all the RTS games. I also kept active in WoW, completing the world quest achievement twice (pre- and post-cata) and also studying the quests.
Then again iam an info-maniac and suffer from severe information-poisoning. WoW is not the only lore of a fictional world that I keep up-to-date. I must also mention that LOTR is not something i keep up to date with. However, i try my best but i know more than the majority of people. Evina Nothing to feel proud of or superior about. I have a hankering for information handling and the course of events. This is strange since i dislike history (actually i love history but I am disgusted by how mainstream institutions go about teaching it, similar to how they ruin wonderful "classic" books for students which is addressed by the principles of self-determination motivational theory (IE Situation A: Volunteer appreciates their work and contribution however when they are hired with a full time capabity and paid for it they lose motivation to complete the job because they feel that they are obligated to complete the task now or they wont get paid. It's not what they want to do, but what they must do.
But yes. I love the lore for its own benefit. Particularly, the night elf, old god and certain fave characters the lore. I would like to see more discussions by draenai on the lore of Azeroth, but it has not been discussed enough often.
