Although multi-threaded performance may be possible, single-threaded performance is quite surprising. It's only one benchmark and it's perfectly possible that this benchmark performs particularly well on Zen 3. Passmark scores are very closely linked to Python code performance. This makes it a valuable benchmark.



If it stands up AMD's newest 6 core processor is able to provide 110 percent of the single-threaded speed and 94% of the multi-threaded performance of Intel's flagship 10 core 10900K. It's more efficient than an 18 core Xeon Gold 6140.



It could be a significant upgrade to my Ryzen 1700.



Even if it states "Ships from and sold by Amazon" you have to look over the fine print.



I didn't get burned but this isn't the case with the 400GB model that seems to be genuine. But if you look up SanDisk microSD cards on Amazon AU, everything smaller than 400GB comes with a bizarre disclaimer:

I was planning to check if it was out yet, and there it is. I have to install a new Linux VM onto a New Spare Laptop because the old one was a mess.



In the case of spare laptops, it is discovered that Old Spare Laptop has exactly the same problem with its battery as New Spare Laptop.



Old Spare Laptop has loose connections. This, in conjunction with the battery that is failing, makes it unreliable even when it's connected. It appears that the issue is with the charger cable, not the laptop. I remembered I had another charger that had exactly the same plug so I swapped the two and it worked.



At the very least, until you disconnect it, whereupon it ceases to function immediately.



In Hololive news Gawr Gura surpassed 1 million subscribers and Mori Calliope hit 500k during the same Minecraft collab stream (which I caught live), and Calliope was the top-rated iTunes album worldwide the same day. Coco is back to smear her fans and HololiveCN is being, um, granted independence.



The HoloCN girls are given all rights to their characters, so they can become independent. China is too toxic to handle in the present, especially given the huge success of HoloEN.

Huawei has announced the Mate 40 series powered with the brand new Kirin 9000. (AnandTech)



The Kirin 9000's primary characteristic is the massive Mali G78MP24. My Mediapad M3 sports the Kirin 950 with a Mali T880MP4, which is six times faster than before clock speed and improvements to the architecture.



You'd have to be insane to purchase a Mate 40, though. It's not cheap, and it does not include Google services and production of the CPU which was developed by TSMC's 5nm process, which is a new technology that has already been stopped by US sanctions against Huawei.
