MIAMI (CBSMiami - Despite the fact that the conflict in Ukraine is on the other side South Floridians have stepped up to help those fleeing the country.

Marsha Jaquays, Florida Friends of Laniado Hospital shared the following "Just last night, 1100 patients came."
She added that over 2 million Ukrainian refugees are seeking to escape their war-torn country. Emmanuil Grinshpun A large portion of them have crossed the border to Moldova the country of a few thousand that shares its borders with Ukraine.
"From Moldova, this Jewish community is helping them get over the border line and maybe even giving them shelter, food, and clothes," added Jaquays.
A majority of the humanitarian efforts are spearheaded from the shores of South Florida, Sunny Isles.
"My job is to coordinate all resources of American society in order to aid in the current crisis in Moldova." Emmanuil grinshpun has been involved in the organization of the relief effort said that there are several people working on the ground in Moldova to help with organizing camps, food purchases, and bus organizing.
It is also said that Moldova is among the poorest nations within Europe. This makes it even worse. But, those who are involved in the cause say they will not allow any obstacle to helping.
Grinshpun said, "When brothers and sister from Ukraine cameto visit, we didn't have to think about it. https://jcm.md/en/about-us/ We simply began making plans."
Jaquays are a perfect example of our feelings.
"Who were there in the Holocaust and also when the Nazis took over? How many people left their homes and said, "It's not me. It'sn't Jewish. It's not my family. I'm not living in Europe."
