Redscare is a slacker rock band that you have probably seen their merchandise. You may have seen their T-shirts or their bags. Did you know they also sell mugs and other merchandise?
T-shirts

A new line of merchandise was launched by left-wing podcast Red Scare earlier this week. It is based on ISIS' logo. Three provocative women are featured on the merchandise. There are many styles available for these t-shirts. They are available in white, black, and even pink.

The podcast does not sanction the merchandise, but it is an imitation of the ISIS logo. It features an Arabic alphabet font that mocks discrimination Muslims and Arabs face.

Red Scare's website states that although the merchandise was sold out within 24 hours, the store is now closed. Independent artists and retailers still sell the t-shirts. There are three styles to choose from: crew neck, slim fit, and v-neck. The t-shirts are made of 100% cotton and have a light weight fabric.

Unisex sweatshirts can also be made from 50% cotton and 50% polyester. There is also a classic men’s t-shirt that is 100% cotton.

Red Scare merchandise is making a stir on social networks. These shirts mock the Islamic State banner and Islam's shahada (also known as the Seal of the Prophet). It's a well-known tactic to hide hateful statements by using humory irony.

In this instance, the IS banner has been replaced by the Arabic alphabet font. The merchandise mocks white privilege while it may mock discrimination against Arabs. This is part the "dirtbag Left" subculture. The dirty left embraces harsh humor as a political tactic and enjoys biting mockery.

Many people who are associated with Dirtbag Left have been called "nerdy shit" and many listeners have had negative reactions to the podcasts. These shows have their supporters. The Dirtbag Left movement is gaining more momentum.

This podcast featured many prominent people, including Glenn Greenwald, a journalist, and Slavoj Ziskek. Anna Frost, a trade unionist who is also co-host of The Chapo Trap House podcast has been featured.
