Farnoush Farsiar discusses Why are There So Few Women In Finance?
Women are breaking down walls and becoming great leaders in various industries. The sad reality is that just a small percent of women work in finance. It's unlikely to improve, which is unfortunate.

Deloitte insight estimates that 31% of financial industry employees will be women in 2030. This begs a question: Why is there so little women in the finance industry? There are many theories out there however we wanted to learn from an expert on the subject. Farnoush Farnoush has been interviewed by us. She is a seasoned financial professional who is a passionate advocate for women's empowerment.

How many women work in finance?

The U.S. has 57 percent of the workforce is female but just 24% of financial jobs. The expected increase in women's participation is 28 percent over the next ten years which is rising from 24% by 2021. This is still much less than parity.

Diverseness isn't only a problem for women. Farnoush Farsiar said that it's also a problem in the world of business. Farsiar said that leadership teams with diverse perspectives have better results than teams that have fewer perspectives. "So it's crucial to have females in these professions. It's also crucial for the nation as a whole.

There are several theories as to the reasons women aren't as represented in the financial industry. One theory is that the industry of finance is too male-dominated, competitive and challenging for women to enter. Another theory is that women aren't encouraged by their parents to pursue finance careers.

Farsiar believes the root cause of the issue lies in the way women are socialized from the age of a child. "Women learn from an early age that they are caretakers, not risk-takers. "We are taught to play cautiously and avoid taking chances. This doesn't make sense for an occupation as an analyst in finance.

It's more than just being taught to look after their children. Women are also taught to be kind to people. Farsiar explains that women are taught to be courteous and are taught to reduce conflict. "But you need to be able to advocate for your own financial ideas. You have to be able to advocate for your ideas.

Farsiar Asks Where are all the women in finance?
Particularly at the top of the finance industry there is a dearth of women in the finance industry is alarming. A study by Pew research discovered that women comprise just 10% of executive positions. Also, they hold just 11.5% of the board seats in financial firms.

https://www.pcb.its.dot.gov/PageRedirect.aspx?redirectedurl=https://timebusinessnews.com/brexit-benefited-uk-financial-market-says-farnoush-farsiar/ This inequality has a direct impact on women who work as financial professionals. Women are less likely in finance to be promoted than their male counterparts.

The positive side is that the proportion of women in senior roles is slowly but surely increasing. Farnoush Farsiar believes that this is partly due to the #womenshould campaign which has brought about an increased awareness of the issue of diversity. Farsiar believes that the #MeToo campaign has had an incredible impact on her life. Women are beginning to recognize their voices heard and demanding change."

Farnoush Farsiar Women's financial access is a challenge for women.
A number of obstacles prevent women from pursuing finance careers. A lack of role models is one of these biggest obstacles. It is lonely for women working in finance to be the sole female in their field.

Farsiar admitted that it's daunting to be the only female in the room. "You expect to be flawless in all situations and there should be no errors."

Another issue is "old boys"club" A mindset that is prevalent in many finance companies. It is a belief that men are better than women, and that men should be promoting one another.

Farsiar admits "there is some truth to that." "I experienced it myself. Even if the woman is a better candidate, even if she has greater qualifications, men will still encourage others.

This"old-boys' club" mentality can also result in sexual harassment and discrimination. Farnoush Farsiar Female finance professionals are frequently targeted for ostracizing remarks or unwanted advances by male colleagues.

Farnoush Farsiar exclaims that "it's definitely an issue." "Women in Finance are often treated as objects. It's difficult to advance in a world where you're treated like a commodity."

Last but not least it is the issue of inflexible working arrangement. Females are more likely to be responsible for family obligations than men, such as caring after elderly parents or their children. To manage their family and professional lives, they will need flexible working arrangements.

"Finance has a high-stakes business. It is difficult to handle your obligations while working in finance. Farnoush Farsiar Women frequently have to pick between their job as well as their family career.

These obstacles make getting top posts in the financial services sector very difficult for women. There are many initiatives being taken to remedy this.

Farnoush Farsiar believes that the future is bright for women working in finance.
http://filmsgood.ru/user/Farnoush-Farsiar9eaabb22/ There are good evidence to suggest that women will continue to be employed in financial services. There are a variety of initiatives being implemented to boost women's involvement in the financial market, and to help women as they pursue senior roles.

One of these initiatives is Women Entrepreneurs Finance Initiative (WeFi) It is a partnership of the World Bank Group & 14 governments. We-Fi offers financial assistance and financing to women-led businesses in developing countries.

Farsiar explained, "This initiative is great because it gives women access the resources they need to begin and expand their businesses." It also helps them build networks and make connections with other women entrepreneurs.

A different initiative is the Women in Finance Charter. The U.K. government launched it in the year 2016. The Women in Finance Charter is a pledge made by financial firms to encourage gender diversity.

Farsiar claims that the Women in Finance Charter "is a great leap in the right direction." "It will encourage financial institutions to take actions on gender diversity, it's making progress."

Through initiatives such as We-Fi as well as the Women in Finance Charter, more women get to enter and take on senior roles. This is a good thing for women and the financial sector.
