Minecraft meet-up in Peterborough described as "awful"

Parents who are furious about Minecraft gamers have taken to social media to complain about "awful" queues and a lack of activities to do at an unofficial convention.
On Saturday, approximately 4,100 people were at MineVention at Peterborough Arena to meet stars and play games.
But dozens of people said they queued for hours to see idols, and take food, and are now demanding refunds.
Lisa O'Brien, the organizer Lisa O'Brien, the organizer, said that the lines were long and she will issue a statement about refunds within the timeframe.
The event, which is not associated or endorsed by Minecraft developer Mojang, started in Ireland, and this was its first time in the UK.

It offered players of the global gaming phenomenon Minecraft - where players build many different objects with cubic blocks - the opportunity to meet the world's most famous "Youtubers", get photographs and play games.
The event was hosted by Jason Bradbury, TV's Gadget Show host, and urged viewers to dress as Steve, the game's protagonist, to attempt a world record.
However, it was also criticized on social media for long queues, lack of food and merchandise stalls and other issues.
Vicky Abraham shared on Facebook that she had waited with her five-year-old son for more than an hour and only 30 seconds on the computer.
Another parent claimed she was waiting for 45 minutes to get a water bottle, and that the event was "appalling" with nothing to do. Another person contacted the BBC to say they left after a half-hour as the queues were so bad, and her son was "crying throughout the journey to home".
Some people shared on Facebook that they were happy with the event. One of them saying: "I thought your event was great for PS15."
Lisa O'Brien of O'Brien Event Management said she felt with parents since we all have children. She said the queues were 45 minutes long due to the number of people who attended on the day instead of buying tickets in advance.
She stated that the convention was unprecedented in scale and that some official merchandise didn't arrive at the right time to allow it to begin.
She said that organisers had "taken on everyone's comments and suggestions" and were scheduled to meet to figure out what went wrong, adding that a further announcement would be made on Monday evening.
