Azeroth Interrupted Azeroth Interrupted: Happy Father's Day!

Today is Father's Day and I thought I'd pay tribute in no particular order to my favorite WoW-related Father/Child relations.



Micah & Ezra: Micah & Ezra's story of playing WoW together and strengthening their friendships, and helping Ezra to face the terrifying reality of a brain tumour is truly inspiring. Ezra's WoW hopes were made possible by Blizzard. I hope that Micah and Ezra are able to continue playing together for many years to come. Happy Father's Day, Micah!



Rob Pardo with his daughter Sydney: Rob Pardo, Vice President of Game Design at Blizzard, plays WoW alongside his daughter Sydney. Rob Pardo discusses how he juggles WoW and real life. He says that playing WoW with his daughter has taught Rob to appreciate the pure enjoyment of the game as a means to broaden his perspective. Rob Happy Father's Day!



South Park's Randy and Stan: Who's eyes didn't break when Randy's character was mortally wounded when he handed over The Sword of a Thousand Truths to Stan's character? An excellent example, albeit fictional, of a father and son becoming closer due to WoW. Randy, Happy Father's Day!



Siscotoquark Dragonflie and Siscotoquark Dragonflie Siscotoquark and Dragonflie have played Final Fantasy VII together at first, WoW was their first MMO. Siscotoquark (father) and Dragonflie (son) play together. Siscotoquark is also the Druid Class leader of the guild, which is where his son is the Guild Lead. Mccainsource.com Many fathers would find it difficult to have the game's authority and control of their sons. But not here. Happy Father's Day, Siscotoquark!



Emme and Onnix Emme and Onnix: This is Emme and Onnix my husband. Emme was three months old when this picture was taken. When she was this tiny and not very mobile, Onnix would hold Emme while playing WoW. And I will forever be grateful that he didn't do what this guy did and play WoW while I was in labor. Yes, he did however, I also did at first. I was doing whatever I could to distract myself from the contractions however, he didn't leave me to play WoW. I believe he was online after he returned home to feed the cats, while I was in the hospital, but he had to announce the birth of his baby, didn't he? Happy Father's Day Onnix!



Terenas and Arthas: Admittedly, this relationship didn't last very well however it did bring the Warcraft story along quite well. One of my coworkers played Warcraft III cutscenes during breaks when it was released. I had played Diablo II and Diablo III before, but Arthas died led me to become an Blizzard fangirl. I still get a thrill when I run through the throne's room to reach the Undercity. Rest in peace, King Terenas Menethil and we will all remember your noble sacrifice for our gaming pleasure.
