Mojang Reassures Minecraft Fans about Microsoft Deal

Mojang reassures Minecraft fans about Microsoft deal

The boss of Minecraft-maker Mojang has assured fans about what's going to occur when Microsoft takes over.

In mid-September, Microsoft announced a $2.5bn (PS1.5bn) deal to purchase Mojang.

Vu Bui, the chief operating office of Mojang, stated that there is no plan to alter the game or change what people can do with it.

The feedback from players will be vital in helping grow the game, he said.

"Nothing's likely to change," stated Mr Bui. We don't plan on any change and obviously I'm not able to discuss the deal and I don't have all the information, but we're still here, the game is in play and business is as normal."

Mojang has always aimed to keep the original spirit that helped to make the game so popular, he explained.

He stated, "Maintaining the original culture isn't easy." It's a culture that respects the community and lets them play however they like in the game.

"It is absolutely our intention, as it always has been, to carry on with that," he told the BBC in an interview at London's Olympia exhibition centre , where the keynote speech at the Brand Licensing Europe trade show.

Mr. Bui acknowledged that the deal was "still in the works" but said Mojang's intention was to continue working closely with its vast community of players.

Many fans of block-building have expressed their concern about what might happen when Microsoft gets full control.

Markus Persson (aka Notch), is the Minecraft inventor. He wrote about the reasons he was approaching Microsoft. He said that it was too for him to handle and was becoming a burden.

He wrote, "I can't take responsibility for something like this," shortly after details of the deal were disclosed.

"It's not about the money," he added. "It's all about my mental health."

Bui said that there will be some changes in the near future. EALATORRE However, these changes would be made with the input, comments and feedback from fans.

The current system in which Minecraft developers collaborate long before it is added is expected to be maintained.

"We don't keep our features secret," he said.

Mojang began to show off the new games they were creating even though he wasn't aware of the specifics.

Mojang will let players test the early versions of a game and help its creators improve it Mr Bui said.

Similar strategies were employed in Minecraft, and Mojang decided to replicate the procedure because it had been proven to help developers as they worked on the development of a project.

It wasn't about trying to duplicate the success of Minecraft to create a new game that was as popular. It was more about having faith in the overall approach, said Mr. Bui.

He stated, "We believe that model." "Regardless of the art form you choose, people should focus on what they believe in regardless of whether it will be successful.

He said, "That's a noble endeavor."

Mojang also declared that it was wrong to try to control the Minecraft community or dictate what can be done within the game.

He also said it was better to be out of the way.

"People are at their most creative sometimes when you just let them be creative and do whatever they want," said Mr Bui. Although you must give them some guidelines but they'll be capable of coming with more innovative ideas than we can.
