It's true that playing Minecraft on consoles is truly amazing. It's basically the same delightful/terrifying experience from PC, albeit in the comfort of your living room. What's not to love? Well, on last-gen consoles there was at the very least one unintentional side effect of the platform The world that was generated by the procedural engine of Minecraft was much smaller than what could be done on PC. EALATORRE This is expected to change with the launch of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions in August. Mojang is a development studio, says that it "brings substantially larger worlds and a greater draw range than Xbox 360 Edition." Hot dog!
Of course, if the bite-sized world of last-gen Minecraft suffice (and we're sure it's plenty large) The PlayStation Vita version also arrives this August. Even better news is that if you have the game on your PlayStation 3, you can also own it on Vita. It costs $5 to convert from PS3/Xbox 360 to PS4/XB1 versions. The deal is only valid for the first year that it's available and you'll need to upgrade soon-ish to snag the deal at a low cost.
To sweeten the deal further, saved games from the last-gen/Vita versions will be able to be transferred to current-gen consoles (though it's not possible to go back - beware!). The August edition includes all updates to the last-gen versions. The entire package is $20. And the creepers remain super, super creepy.
