We have also created a special Minecraft remote learning toolkit, that includes more than 50 lessons, STEM curriculum , and project-based learning exercises so that teachers can use Minecraft: Education Edition with their students, whether in school, at home or in a different remote learning environment.
Features like classroom multiplayer allow students to work together on projects in their Minecraft worlds, building plans, planning, and even chatting as they work together. (Download this how-to guide for using Multiplayer Mode.) Students can use tools such as the Camera and Book & Quinl to capture screenshots and write about their work and export their game portfolios as PDFs once they are ready to submit their work.
"Distance learning requires students to be actively engaged in engaging with content in a variety of ways," explains educator and Minecraft certified trainer Becky Keene. They require activities and learning environments that allow them to learn as they work from home. Minecraft can be used to support almost any content area, and students can demonstrate their learning without a break!"
When students collaborate via remote in Minecraft: Education Edition, it opens up new opportunities to build communication and problem-solving skills. Mark Henkels, a Minecraft educator in New York, says, "It's the social interaction that is the main reason the reason why Minecraft is so well-liked and loved. And that social interaction is the reason why Minecraft is such a an excellent educational experience."
