The Warner Bros. https://proxylist101.com/ Minecraft movie has a new director... again. Variety reports that Peter Sollett has been hired to write and direct the long-awaited film. The film was originally planned to release in May of this year. The film's production has been delayed due to director changes. The film was originally being directed by Rob McElhenney (It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia) however, Rob McElhenney quit the project in August. And he had taken the reins from Shawn Levy (Night at the Museum) who dropped out in 2014.
Sollett was the director of Raising Victor Vargas, 2002 and Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist (2008). Sollett has also been praised for his work on Five Feet High and Rising. Mojang Minecraft, the original developer of Minecraft is believed to be still involved in the making of the film.
Warner Bros. acquired the rights to Minecraft in 2014. The question now is whether Minecraft is still able to draw the same number of viewers as it did a few years back. Although it's not clear when the movie will be released, there's a chance that it will, with the new director.
