How to find Diamonds in Minecraft 1.19

. This is the place where you can increase your chances of finding Diamonds.



Minecraft 1.18 introduced several important changes to Minecraft's global generation. If you're playing Minecraft 1.18 or later you'll be able to go below Y=0 and then into negative figures. Below Y=0 you'll see all the normal ore types, including Diamonds embedded in Deepslate Blocks instead of normal Stone blocks.

Diamond creates at the Y=15 level and increases in frequency as you move down. To find out what Y-Level your on, press F3 to open the coordinates display. The second number below "XYZ" is the current level of the lower part of your body.



If a Diamond will be placed near an open-air building during world generation, it may not produce. Minecraft crafting recipes This makes it difficult to find diamonds in caves. Therefore, you'll need to dig into the depthslate if you want to maximise the chances of finding diamonds.

If you're still playing on Minecraft 1.17 or earlier, you'll find Diamond Ore in every Overworld biome from Y-levels 1- 15.

They spawn most often between levels 5-12

, so if you want to increase your chances of finding Diamonds be sure to stay within these two levels.



Whatever version of Minecraft you are using, diamonds will appear in small veins up to 9 blocks per turn. However, you can occasionally find larger veins comprised of multiple veins that connect each one. Diamonds are scarce even when they're at the right level.





Best method for mining Diamonds in Minecraft


Only an Iron Pickaxe can be used to mine diamond ore

or better. As of 1.18, Diamonds are far more rare in open spaces like caves, which means to maximize your chances of finding Diamonds in Minecraft you should strip-mine in straight lines across all directions.



The most efficient method to mine Diamonds in Minecraft 1.19 is to mine down to level -57 , and then dig an extensive 2-block-tall tunnel in any direction. Then start to mine out to either side in more 2x1 tunnels, leaving a 2-block gap between each new tunnel.



Once you're satisfied you've strip-mined all Diamonds on this level, repeat the entire process until you reach level 53. If you mine this way at both levels -57 and -53, then you'll be able to see all Diamonds that form between levels -58 and. This lets you extract the highest concentration of Diamonds, without running into blocks of Bedrock which could otherwise hinder your strip-mining progress.



If you're playing Minecraft 1.17 or earlier, you can use the same method, but using levels 6 and 10.



While mining is a good idea to keep a Water Bucket with you, because pockets of lava are quite common at these levels. To prevent mobs that spawn in your tunnels ensure that you have plenty of torchlight to illuminate your path. You could also use Night Vision potions to lighten your path, however this will not stop mobs from spawning.
