Reporters Without Borders believes it has the solution to the growing problems: make the news available through a game that is not often blocked. The team has worked with BlockWorks and MediaMonks on the Uncensored Library, a Minecraft map that contains articles from journalists and sites whose work is frequently censored for its unflattering truths. Articles from Jamal Khashoggi, a murdered journalist from Saudi Arabia, Hatice Cengiz supports this project, Grani.ru, an activist-friendly Russian website, and Mada Masr (an Egyptian anti-corruption outlet), among others.

The library is a technological accomplishment in its own right. It's a huge neoclassical museum, with specific country wings and massive collection of books. It isn't possible to tear the library apart however, you can expand it if you have the time and desire.
Reporters Without Borders believes that the Uncensored Library should have a high level of resilience. Anyone can download the map, and Minecraft's nature makes it easy to host a different server in case an oppressive nation tries to take one down. We don't expect this to be lasting for a long time, however. Countries that already have severe censorship policies aren't likely to think twice about prohibiting Minecraft in whole-heartedly -- this may be just a temporary reprieve.
However, that's not the entire purpose. It's also a commentary on the issue of censorship, as well as a way to inform people who would not be thinking about this topic. If it can inspire a small number of Minecraft players to support press freedom or pursue investigative reporting as a profession the game will have fulfilled its purpose.
